Memorable family gathering at Capitol Casa
Our extended family group of four siblings, spouses, and numerous adult children (plus two teens) spent a wonderful week at Capitol Casa between Christmas and New Year’s. The house was absolutely perfect for our family; we made use of every lovely feature – the well-equipped kitchen, roomy common areas, wood fireplace, garden hot tub, downstairs dens (a great hangout for our twenty-somethings), huge dining table, and exceptionally comfortable beds. All of us are history buffs, so we appreciated the fact that the house itself is historic and decorated with antiques. Capitol Casa has the feel of a country inn, yet is located right in town. Even with the cold and snowy weather, we were out and about on foot every day – the house is only a few minutes’ pleasant walk to the Plaza (and even closer to a great grocery store). We had three rental cars, which all fit in the driveway. There was also ample space on the street, to the north of the house. Kristen and Debbie were easy to work with, and very professional. They were prompt in their correspondence, responsive to our questions after arrival, and flexible in their accounting. (A few additional members of our group decided, at the last minute, to stay at a nearby condo; Kristen graciously issued us credit for the lower head count at Capitol Casa.) We left the house and premises in proper condition, and received a full refund of our damage deposit in timely fashion. All in all, Capital Casa is a great house for a crowd, and perfectly located. We hope to return some day.

Amazing Santa Fe Home!
We rented the house for Holy Week - this was "home base" for several family members from around the country. A total of 13 adults and teens stayed at the home. We gathered for a Good Friday pilgrimage from Nambe to Chimayo - we had such an amazing time! The house was absolutely perfect - central, walkable location to Santa Fe attractions (Loretto Chapel, Main Plaza, etc.) - it was incredibly well-stocked (dishes, pots/pans, towels, linens, bath robes, appliances, etc. - every amenity you could need) in fact we cooked almost all of our meals at home. We had a ton of gathering space for visiting with family (two large porches, living room, large dining table) and a lovely hot tub (didn't get a chance to use). I can't say enough nice things about Kristen - the owner/manager. She was SO EASY to work with and she provided a ton of information prior to our trip including tips on restaurants, sight-seeing - even tips on avoiding altitude sickness!! If you want the authentic "Santa Fe" experience of a neat historic home, walkable attractions/shopping, SUPER comfortable beds/bedding, beautifully decorated, SUPER clean with tons of space for all, then this is the place for you - look no further! I will leave you with three tips on the home: (1) parking is at a premium in Santa Fe - the house can fit up to 3 cars (in a row) - we only have one side of the carport (we had 2 Ford Expeditions and 1 Toyota SUV - they fit just fine); (2) the downstairs den is awesome - we set it up with the 6 twin beds - super comfy and great hangout space for teens BUT the staircase is steep and narrow - this is not for frail elderly or unsupervised small children - we didn't have an issue - our elderly family stayed upstairs and we do not have small children; (3) extra family stayed directly across the street at Four Kachinas B&B -also super nice and a great rate - just FYI if you have a large party of over 14 people (i think the Capitol Casa house guest max is 14). I would definitely return to Capitol Casa for our next Santa Fe adventure!

Return Visitor - Even BETTER the 2nd Time!
This is our second stay at this home in Santa Fe. We enjoyed it so much the first time that we didn't even consider anything else! Love the location, the house, and the property owners. They are very responsive, nice, and easy to work with. They are animal lovers so allowed me to bring my golden retriever, Presley, and provided a crate, so I didn't have to transport mine. The kitchen has everything you need: crockpot, coffee makers, blender, etc. Definitely will return!
Also - we were there during a FABULOUS snow storm, so the skiing was exceptional and the town was beautiful!

Extraordinary and Perfect for our Girl's Getaway!
Not only is Santa Fe an amazing place for a Girl's Gathering, but a stay at Capitol Casa makes the entire adventure divine. This home offered the six of us (lifelong friends), a most gracious and perfect home during our two long stays for our NM adventures. We first stayed at the home in October of 2013 and fell so deeply in love with the home and all its amenities and proximity to all-things-downtown-and-art that we returned in October 2014 for a longer stay. The home is beautifully and artfully appointed. Each of us had our own space for sleeping. The three bathrooms made it easy for getting ready each morning to head out on our daily adventures. The hot tub - pure bliss after a long day of walking and exploring and sightseeing. While we embraced exploring Santa Fe and the surrounding areas, we all agreed that the deepest bliss was in beginning our day with a slow breakfast around the dining room table and then ending our day at the home (either in front of a fire in the kiva fireplace or in the hot tub on the back patio). This home is clean, well appointed...it offers every amenity one might need...the bedding is uber-comfortable...the location is quiet and divine. Without a doubt, if you are looking for a home-away-from-home during a visit to Santa Fe...this home is for you! We love Capitol Casa

Mi casa es su casa!
"Mi casa es su casa" or "My house is your house" is a common phrase in Spanish that is used to invite someone into your house and allow them to make themselves at home and that is exactly what we found at Capital Casa. A party of 7, ages 15-65, this was our home away from home for 9 days. The house was conveniently located in the heart of Santa Fe and we were able to walk to shops, restaurants, grocery store and the farmers market. On days that we took adventurous outings, Capital Casa was with in an hours scenic drive of where ever we were going. Capital Casa was very roomy and well appointed and the kitchen was well stocked with appliances, utensils and spices. We started our mornings out on the front porch with coffee and ended our day in the same spot with a glass of wine. I want to say that the pictures online, as nice as they are, do not do the house justice. It is decorated with fine art and antiques, comfy furniture and outfitted with fine linens and towels. It is really a wonderful place to stay. Gorgeous bathrooms.....we absolutely loved it there! Thank you Kristen and Debbie!! We had a fabulous vacation!

Location, comfort and service - Capitol Casa has it all.
Capitol Casa was our home for life-long friends to share a girls’ weekend. I can’t say enough positive comments. Kristin and staff made the reservation/contract process so easy. She sent us very helpful suggestions on “things to do” and “places to eat”. The house was easy to find off the interstate and was the perfect location for us to walk to the plaza, Canyon Road, museums, galleries and restaurants. It sits on a quiet street with parking for 2-3 cars. There were plenty of beds, baths and sitting room for our group. Every amenity was provided in the kitchen, bedrooms, baths and patio area. Our favorite room was the front porch where we enjoyed our morning coffee and late afternoon drinks. There was always a nice cooling breeze with the delicious smell of spring blooms from the beautiful landscaping. I would recommend this house to groups or families, keeping in mind that the stairs are steep for very young children. The downstairs is perfect for kids to have their own area while the adults enjoy the upstairs living space. We have rented houses in several cities around the US and can say that this is one of our favorites.

wonderful house
Well equipped, friendly, nicely furnished, versatile. Many areas to gather: front porch, back patio, living room, dining table. We had a wonderful time. Proximity to downtown and a grocery store makes it ideal, you don't even need a car.
